Budapest New Years Cup 2026

Dear players, fans, and lacrosse family,

Normally these days there should be a post about registration is open and come join on the biggest winter field event at Budapest. But today, I have to come with a heartbreaking news for all of us.

The Famous and unique New Years Cup is cancelled for 2026.

The reason behind that is not so happy, and I'm here to give you some explanation.

In the last 15 years we had 2 different homes for the event, VASAS and in the last few years the SZAC.

But both of the fields are in motion to a new respective owner, and the motion was scheduled to be ended by 31st August, but it looks like it'll not happen before the end of the year.

With it, it's not possible to host any event on those fields. We tried to move it away from Budapest, closer to Western-Europe, but haven't found any field, which was suitable for an event like this.

If everything goes through, we can't wait to host the event in 2027, until that see you all around Europe in the future.
