The Cancellation of the New Year's Cup

Dear players, fans, and lacrosse family, 

We usually look forward to sharing exciting news about registration opening for our beloved winter field event in Budapest. Unfortunately, now we must deliver some heartbreaking news that resonates deeply with all of us.

Our famous and unique New Years Cup is cancelled for 2026.

This decision weighs heavy on our hearts, as this event holds a special place in our community.

Understanding the Reasons

The reason behind that is not so happy, and we're here to give you some explanation.

In the last 15 years we had 2 different homes for the event, VASAS and SZAC.

But both of the fields are in motion to a new respective owner, and the motion was scheduled to be ended by 31st August, but sadly it'll not happen before the end of the year.

With it, it's not possible to host any events on those fields. We tried to move it away from Budapest, closer to Western-Europe, but haven't found any fields, which were suitable for our event.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this difficult time as we process these news. Together, we can look forward to future events that will celebrate the spirit of lacrosse and our remarkable community.
